When I was 15, I learnt how to play my first chord on a guitar in Stockholm's archipelago. I pressed three fingers in a row on the second fret and slowly
strummed the strings. An A-chord went through the air and into my ears. The sound of simple harmony made me feel pure joy that transported me to another world.
At the end of that summer my family immigrated to Toronto, Canada where I got my first guitar.
I began writing songs when I was 20 years old.
My first song,
Mr. Fear, is about the sensation of fear and its effect on our lives.
Since then I have written over 60 songs in english and swedish.
1979 in Toronto, I acquired grade 4 harmony and counterpoint at the Toronto Conservatory of Music.
1989-90 I studied electronic music at the Univercity of Victoria in BC, Canada. There I wrote a computer program for
Computer Aided Music Composition (CAMC) which
composed music by selecting chords and notes within boundaries set by the user.
1990 the Canadian singer
Ann Mortefee sang my song
Opening my Dream with a children's choir in Russia.
2001 a choir of over 100 children sang my song
Stars Shining for the
Toronto Olympic Bid.
2013 I won a song contest for
Robb Roads School in Comox, BC, Canada.
Through the years, I have performed in restaurants, cafés, pubs, festivals, live on the radio, and on streets in Canada, the US and Europe.
